    continued....sorry

Ask Yourself (those who have these VC set now)

Do you now have new VC footage?
Do you have something that lets you see "The Master" up close playing some very exciting music?
Do you feel you received a good deal trading/paying for 4 full DVDs of the greatest drummer ever?
Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?
(Oooops, sorry, that's a presidential line.)

    Thanks. Getes Romo

Others seem not able to break from their own mind set..."I wish my convictions would allow me to pay a few $ for this extraordinary footage of Vinnie..."

I think the tone now is that the DVD set is being sold at other drum forums. I suppose anyone could do this with any significant boot. I have held true to my convictions by not buying it. Yes, I would love to see it, but once it went on Ebay from Getes, I pulled out. Someone from HOD (assuming Getes first offered here) has tried to pass on to another forum. This will get the ball rolling and being it is still rare, someone could claim they have a rare DVD set of Vinnie almost impossible to attain and sell it for the going market price, ewhatever that might be.

    Welcome to the Internet!

I agree Pocket. Some weeks ago it was offered on the Virgil forum, at the person's second post as a member. Say what you want, but it was being sold with the intention to make some extra bucks - that turned me off it as well.

Yes, wanted to see it also, but when it went for sale at E-bay and I heard it was offered at the Virg site, I thought twice. When I e-mailed the guy and asked, he asked me how much I was willing to pay.........end of conversation and then I get an e-mail after asking in here what the going price everyone paid that I should just ask him and keep it out of the forum........Let's see, he came to this forum and tons of talk, but don't ask the going price in here so he can jack the price up. I think the stuff on e=bay eventually went for $40 I think. And it wasn't about him making money I thought,.....

Although I don't dig what Getes is doing selling those videos and haven't seen the videos I do seem to remember a guy by the name of Mike Jochum who used to sub for Vinnie. He did it many times on the Pat Sajak Show and I think that may be the mystery drummer you guys are asking about. He looked like a cross between Vinnie and Weckl. I could ask VC I guess but that might open a conversation I don't want to get into. If you google his name you'll find he is in the same company as allot of those band members at the time.

Getes is cool. His communication is a little confusing. I asked him how much for the DVDs and he responded with how much do you think they are worth. I then saw the post about the E-Bay auction and e-mailed him again about a cost for the DVDs and he charged me I think $20 bucks all in, maybe less, I can't remember for sure. After seeing how much editing work he put into these, I don't have a problem with him asking for a little bread to cover his time and costs. These things probably took a period of days to put together.

Anyway, if any HOD members live in Los Angeles and don't have the 4 DVD's, e-mail me and we can meet and I'll let you borrow mine to copy. Also, I would love to get a copy of the Baked Potato gig Vinnie did with Laboriel, etc. from the traditonal grip video if anyone has it. Peace out.
